Weir Materials & Foundries - Super Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe Work Systems, Components and Castings

Weir Materials and Foundries specialise in the manufacture of ZERON® 100 super duplex stainless steel pipework systems, components and castings. We stock and distribute ZERON 100 super duplex stainless steel seamless and welded pipe, fittings, tubes, flanges, forgings, fasteners, and welding consumables as individual components or as project managed pipework packages. We also fabricate ZERON 100 pipe spools, manifolds and vessels in accordance with client drawings and specifications.

We have a custom built, jobbing foundry that specialises in the production of high integrity steel castings ranging in weight from a few kilos up to 8t. We produce castings in a range of steel grades but specialise in the production of high alloy castings, including our world class "ZERON" range of alloys. We sell to pump and valve industry customers, and other OEM manufacturers.

ZERON 100® HIGH STRENGTH, FRACTURE TOUGH, CORROSION RESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL

Strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and affordability are extremely desirable properties. ZERON 100 offers these properties in sea water service (aerated, chlorinated sea water) and also in process pipe work applications (CO 2/H 2S/Cl- environments, at high temperatures and pressures).

ZERON 100 products compete strongly with super austenitic stainless steels and nickel alloys by providing lower base metal costs due to lower levels of nickel and molybdenum while giving the required performance. ZERON 100 offers further cost reductions because its higher strength, allows reduction in the wall thickness of pipes and vessels in accordance with design codes.

SUPER AUSTENITIC STEELS SEAWATER APPLICATIONS

ZERON 100 has displaced 90/10 Copper Nickel, 6% Mo super austenitic steels, Titanium and GRP in sea water service. Low-cost, ready availability and performance of ZERON 100 in this application have been key to the success of the grade. It has been used for sea water lift, fire water and high pressure sea water injection pumps, utility water ring mains, fire water deluge systems, filter vessels, heat exchangers, sea water injection and sulphate removal system pipe work.

PROCESS APPLICATIONS

ZERON 100 provides resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and sulphide stress corrosion cracking in many produced fluids. ZERON 100 complies with ISO 15156 part 3/ NACE MR0175. It has excellent resistance to localised corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking in marine atmosphere up to 70°C, above this temperature it should be coated.

Subsea, with cathodic protection, ZERON 100 pipes, fittings and API flanges exceed the threshold strain/stress requirements to militate against hydrogen induced stress corrosion cracking as detailed in DNV RP F 112. ZERON 100 has been used as top side process pipe work, production and test manifold, riser, gas compression, HT/HP pipe work systems, subsea flow loops, subsea heat exchanger and pipe line applications.

ZERON 100 has been deployed in all the major oil and gas producing provinces, Alaska, GOM, South America, North Sea, Middle East, West Africa, FSU, South East Asia and Australia. Recent new product developments include ZERON 100 high strength wire line for down-hole use and ZERON 100 long seam welded tube for heat exchanger, subsea umbilicals and flying lead applications.

SPOOLS AND VESSELS FABRICATION

When requested we fabricate spools and vessels to customer isometrics and fabrication specifications. We use ZERON 100X welding consumables. All welding is done by qualified welders working to approved procedures.

ZERON 100 is stocked in Manchester in the UK in standard ANSI/ASME sizes in both finished and semi finished forms. All manufacture, forming and heat treatment is to fully qualified and approved procedures and processes. Weir Materials and Foundries hold ISO 9001.

We have ex-stock, material availability. We cut bars, profile plates and machine components for customers. We ship world wide. We have finished and semi finished raw material in project quantities to facilitate fast delivery of all project requirements. We also sell to OEMs and others who need any quantity of material, large or small.
