Initially the LRAD was designed for Military Maritime Operations (developed in response to the USS Cole attack in October 2000) but its applications have now diversified substantially. Currently they are used for Anti-Piracy, Safety, Crowd Control, Emergency Services and Maritime applications (including the O & G Industry, Port Facilities & Terminals, Vessels and Yachts).
The LRAD is a revolutionary (non-lethal) high-intensity directional acoustic array device for precise audio targeting which can be integrated with other solutions such as cameras and sensors (motion monitors, radar etc). It is also easily integrated with a software control interface. The vision / aiming and positioning system allows users to locate, communicate with and/or deter specific potential threats over extended distances.
