Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.26% share in April 2022, recording an increase of 1.92% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.42% in April 2022, registering a 30.92% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.75% share, an increase of 133.33% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.41%, registering a 318.18% rise from March 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.38%, up 141.18% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 107.21% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s oil & gas industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Shell posted 264 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a rise of 180.85% over the previous month, followed by Koch Industries with 66 jobs and a 37.5% growth. Yara International with 43 IT jobs and BP with 40 jobs, recorded a 4.88% growth and a 207.69% growth, respectively, while PI Industries recorded an increase of 50% with 18 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.99%, up by 52.6% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 39.67% share, registered an increase of 97.96% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.13% share, up 130.77% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.2%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
