Globally, North America accounted for most of the long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) contracts signed in 2022 for the export of LNG, while the Former Soviet Union accounted for the rest.

In North America, most of the contracts signed for exports of LNG are from the US, while Mexico accounted for two contracts. In the US, the biggest contract was signed by Energy Transfer Partners to supply 2.1mtpa of LNG from 2026 to 2046 to Royal Dutch Shell.

Mexico Pacific Limited signed the biggest contract for the export of LNG from Mexico. The company will supply 2.6mtpa of LNG from 2026 to 2045 to Royal Dutch Shell. Mexico Pacific Limited will supply LNG from the Sonora liquefaction terminal.

In the Former Soviet Union, two contracts were signed for exports of LNG from Russia. OAO Novatek company signed both contracts for the supply of 1.0mtpa and 0.6mtpa of LNG to Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group Company (China) and ENN Energy Holdings (China), respectively.
