Offshore services provider Ocean Installer has signed an amendment to its existing contract with Statoil, to deliver riser replacement operations at the Troll C oil and gas field in the North Sea.

The field is located in blocks 31/2, 31/3, 31/5 and 31/6 about 80km west of Bergen at a water depth of about 338m.

The amendment will include options for work at the Vigdis field and would be executed under the SLMP Marine Installation Contract.

Optional work will include flexible jumper replacement operations at the field and other subsea operations.

Ocean Installer CEO Steinar Riise said: "We are extremely pleased to have secured more work at the Troll field as the Norwegian Continental Shelf continues to be an area of great importance to us.

"Following up from our success on the highly complex SIMOPRO operations for Statoil in 2015, this new award allows us to further reinforce our great cooperation with Statoil."

Under the work, Ocean Installer will provide services including recovery and installation of the oil export riser and two production risers at Troll C field.

The work requires subsea and topside disconnection in addition to removing existing risers, and subsea tie-in and topside pull-in of new risers.

Ocean Installer will use its construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Vision to carry out the work, which will take place in 2016.

The conventional steel hull semi-submersible Troll C platform was designed by GVA Consultants and came into production in 1999.
