OGX has completed a well test at the Inga prospect in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin.

The Cased Hole Drillstem Test in the 1OGX18RJS well, located in the BMC40 block, confirms potential production of between 8,000 barrels and 12,000 barrels a day from a vertical well and between 25,000 and 35,000 barrels a day from a horizontal well, OGX said.

The company said that oil produced from the well was heavy crude that tested at 27° on the American Petroleum Institute’s rating scale.

The company previously drilled the Inga prospect to a depth of 2,260m, resulting in the detection of hydrocarbons in the sandstone reservoirs of the Santonian section and in the carbonate reservoirs of the Albian section.

OGX is planning to sell up to 30% of its Campos Basin blocks including BM-C-40 in order to cut development costs and generate cash after it made a series of oil discoveries in the region.
