Circle Oil has completed production a test on the Al-Amir SE-5 appraisal well in the onshore North West Gemsa Concession in Egypt.
The Kareem formation sandstones at the well flowed oil at sustained average rates of 6,150bopd and 6.9mscfd of gas using a 64 / 64in choke from the upper of the two pay zones.

The upper pay zone identified in the Kareem Shagar Sandstone is 19ft thick, while the lower pay in the Kareem Rahmi Sandstone is 17.5ft.
Circle Oil is conducting a technical evaluation of all results to assist in development planning, which will be followed by further assessment of the resource potential.
Al-Amir SE-5 is the fourth appraisal well to be drilled in the area and will be prepared for production following the test.
