Total has reported a “serious” accident at its Petrochemicals plant in Gonfreville, France, where two employees and two contractors were injured.
In a statement Total said that its Petrochemicals emergency response unit provided first aid and transferred the injured to hospitals in Le Havre.

One of three has been discharged from hospital while eight others were treated for shock, the company said.
The company said that the accident scene had been secured and there was no threat to the environment.
As a precaution, all work being performed nearby has been stopped.
