Oilfield services provider Petrofac has secured a new contract to provide Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the Halfaya Contract Area (Halfaya) in southern Iraq.
The $30m contract was awarded by PetroChina International Iraq FZE (PetroChina).

Under the contract, Petrofac’s Engineering and Production Services (EPS) East business will undertake project management services for five years.
Petrofac EPS East managing director Manivannan Rajapathy said: “Through the provision of PMC services, we are demonstrating our competence and capabilities to oversee large programmes of work.
“This builds upon our long track record for in-country execution for existing clients, through the delivery of engineering, operations, maintenance and training activities.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to support PetroChina and the Halfaya partners in the delivery of this key infrastructure project.

Petrofac will be responsible for managing and supervising the development and progress of multiple engineering, procurement and construction work scopes of the project.
It includes the development of the central processing facility, power plant expansion, gas process plant and all other associated facilities.
Under the scope of work, Petrofac EPS will carry out detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the respective project.
Last week, Petrofac signed a three-year master services agreement (MSA) to provide engineering services on a call-off basis at the Gazprom Neft Middle East-operated Garmian field located in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
