These new contracts add to previous long-term agreements between the two companies under which EnBW purchases two million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from Venture Global over a duration of 20 years.

Venture Global CEO Mike Sabel said: “As one of Germany’s top LNG suppliers, Venture Global is proud to strengthen our partnership with EnBW and support the region’s energy security with a reliable supply of LNG.

“The new mid-term agreements build on our strong, long-standing relationship with EnBW and reflect our commitment to meeting our customers’ evolving energy needs.

“Our dynamic marketing platform uniquely positions us to provide supply solutions across the short, medium and long term.”

Venture Global operates as a US-based LNG producer and exporter and currently holds more than 100mtpa of capacity either in operation, under construction or in development.

Since starting production at its first facility in 2022, the company has become one of the country’s major exporters of LNG.

Venture Global operates a vertically integrated business model spanning the full LNG supply chain including production, natural gas transportation, shipping and regasification.

Its initial three projects, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG and CP2 LNG, are situated in Louisiana along the Gulf coast.

According to the company, carbon capture and sequestration initiatives are also under development at each LNG facility.

Prior to this, Venture Global and Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade expanded their existing sales and purchase agreement for US-sourced LNG. Under the revised deal, the contract term has been extended to 20 years, commencing in 2030.

As part of the agreement, Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade will increase its minimum LNG purchase from Venture Global from 500,000tpa to 1mtpa.
