As part of the agreement, Halliburton will implement its Landmark portfolio to establish a digital framework, connecting subsurface insights, well delivery, production operations and business planning.
According to the company, this integration aims to improve efficiency, increase visibility and enable quicker decision-making within the field operations.
Production at the Bin Umar field could reach around 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mscf/d) of associated gas during the first five years of the development phase.
The programme is intended to increase oil output and enhance the capture and use of associated gas for domestic supply, supporting Iraq’s objective of strengthening energy security and reducing its dependence on imported gas.
Halliburton Middle East North Africa vice-president Zaid Khadra said: “We are honoured by the trust Basra Oil Company has placed in Halliburton to support the development of the Bin Umar and Sindbad fields.
“We will work alongside BOC as a technical and project management provider to integrate workflows, digital solutions and execution expertise to maximise asset value.
“We look forward to collaboration with BOC to advance Iraq’s production, infrastructure and associated gas development objectives.”
BOC will continue to hold ownership, operational control and all key decision-making powers related to the assets.
Halliburton intends to engage local talent to help advance the Iraqi Ministry of Oil’s objectives around workforce training and increasing national value.
Halliburton recently secured multi-year lump sum turnkey contracts from Aramco for work across multiple onshore fields in Saudi Arabia.
