Middle East business intelligence service MEED is reporting that international contractors have submitted commercial bids for a project by the onshore arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc Onshore) to redevelop the gas injection trunkline network at the Asab oil field.

Commercial bids for the project were submitted by 5 September, sources told MEED.

Technical bids for the project were submitted by 20 April.

The following contractors are understood to have submitted bids for the project:

There are three main gas injection trunk lines (ITL) that reinject associated gas processed by the Asab gas plant back into the field’s reservoirs for maintaining pressure and sustaining oil production from the asset.

Following a risk assessment study by Adnoc Onshore in 2015, it was found that the main accommodation camp at the Asab onshore field development falls within an emergency planning zone (EPZ) that houses one of the ITLs, namely ITL-2, and three associated gas injection trunk lines.

Through this project, Adnoc Onshore is looking to relocate ITL-2 and other trunk lines and structures within a 3.1-kilometre radius of the Asab accommodation camp facility outside the EPZ.

The scope of work on the project involves demolishing around 6.2 kilometres of ITL-2 and reroute it outside the EPZ, along with the flowlines and wellhead units of SB-247, SB-560 and SB-705 (replaced from SB-286).
