
GlobalData’s latest analysis of global planned and early-stage announced liquefaction terminals in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the period 2018 to 2022 shows that the announced Mozambique terminal has the highest liquefaction capacity with 12.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) in EMEA. The terminal is expected to start operations in 2022 with a total capex of $15bn. Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is the operator of this terminal.
The liquefaction terminal with the second highest capacity in EMEA is the planned Iran LNG terminal with a capacity of 10.8mtpa. The terminal is expected to start operations in 2020. Iran Liquefed Natural Gas Co is the operator of this inland terminal. The terminal has a total capex spending of $4bn.

The announced Iran II liquefaction terminal will have third highest liquefaction capacity in EMEA, with 6mtpa. The inland terminal is expected to start its operations in 2020. Philippine National Oil Co is the operator as well as 50% equity stakeholder of this terminal. Iran II has a total capex of $5.6bn.
The fourth-largest upcoming liquefaction terminal is the planned Coral Floating, located in Mozambique. It is expected to start operations in 2022 with a capacity of 3.4mtpa. Coral FLNG SA is the operator of this inland terminal. Coral Floating has a total capex of $2.5bn.
