GlobalData’s latest analysis of global planned regasification terminals for the period 2018 to 2022 shows that the Krishna Godavari Floating terminal in India has the highest regasification capacity with 351 billion cubic feet (bcf). The terminal is expected to start operations in 2018 with a total capex of $0.8bn.

There are seven planned regasification terminals with second highest capacity in Asia. Each of these terminals has a capacity of 244bcf. Six of these terminals will be located in India. They are Jafrabad Floating, Krishnapatnam Floating I, Dhamara, Mundra, Ennore and Chhara. The remaining terminal, Zhoushan, will be in China.

Shenzhen II, Jaigarh Port, and Jaigarh Port Floating regasification terminals will have the third highest regasification capacity in Asia, each with a capacity of 195bcf. The Shenzhen II terminal, located in China, is expected to start operations in 2019, while Jaigarh Port and Jaigarh Port Floating, both located in India, are expected to start operations in 2020 and 2018 respectively.

The fourth highest planned regasification terminal Maheshkhali Floating II, located in Bangladesh, is expected to start operations in 2019 with a capacity of 183bcf. Summit LNG Terminal Company Pvt Ltd is the operator and it has a total capex of $0.5bn.

Maheshkhali Floating I and Chittagong regasification terminals will have the fifth highest planned regasification capacity in Asia. Each of the terminals has a capacity of 170bcf. Both the terminals would be located in Bangladesh and are expected to start operations in 2018 and 2021 respectively. Excelerate Energy LP is the operator for Maheshkhali Floating I terminal, while Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corp is the operator for the Chittagong terminal.
