Egypt’s state-controlled Red Sea National Refining & Petrochemical Company (RSNRP) has announced another bid deadline extension for its planned $400m refinery in Suez Governorate, according to industry sources.
The company has moved the bid deadline for the project to 1 October 2020.
Previous deadlines for the submission of commercial bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract include 18 June and 16 July.
The greenfield refinery is due to be constructed with a capacity of 4.5 million tonnes a year, the equivalent of 77,545 barrels of oil a day.
The project’s scope includes:
- Construction of a refinery building
- Construction of storage facilities
- Installation of equipment
- Installation of associated facilities
Front-end engineering and design (feed) work for the project was completed earlier this year by Egypt-based Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi).
Enppi is a subsidiary of Egypt’s national oil company Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
