Mr. Fabio Romano, president / CEO of Brastec Technologies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Howard M. Abraham to the position of director – international business.

In his new position, Mr Abraham will be responsible for starting up and overseeing Brastec International, a new division of Brastec Technologies of Jundiai-SP, Brazil. This new division, located in Toronto, Canada will be responsible for all of Brastec’s International Business in countries outside of South America. Mr Abraham reports to the president and chief executive officer, Mr. Fabio Romano.

Mr Abraham holds a Master of Applied Science in Metallurgical Engineering Degree from Dalhousie University / DalTech (formerly Technical University of Nova Scotia), Canada. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from McMaster University, Canada and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

After working in various senior manufacturing and operational roles, Mr Abraham entered the wire and cable industry in 1988. He joined Ceeco Machinery Manufacturing (renamed as a division of Nextrom) in 2000 as the VP and general manager, responsible for both the Canadian and Brazilian rotating equipment divisions. Ceeco was then acquired by Bartell Machinery Systems LLC. After which he focused on sales and market development of the offshore oil and gas equipment product line.

Founded in 2002, Brastec Technologies operates a 120,000ft² headquarters and manufacturing complex in Jundiai, Sao Paulo state, Brazil. The company specialises in engineering and turnkey manufacturing solutions, project management, and system integration for the oil and gas and wire and cable industries worldwide.

Brastec develops and manufactures high integrity equipment for use in the oil and gas on- and offshore industries for pipe and umbilical cable manufacturing, storage and handling, tensioning and pipe laying systems.
