KenzFigee has announced a new, next-generation subsea crane.

The subsea knuckleboom crane is rope actuated and meets requirements for optimised daily subsea operations and safety. It has a lifting capacity of approximately 400-2,000t.

We created this design based on many interactive sessions with our clients. The most important features for clients were related to the improvement of operational safety and workability. All these client needs are addressed in the new design.

The crane design incorporates significant improvements and the following features:

  • Maximum safe working load of 2,000t
  • Decreased hook weight
  • Reduced pendulum length
  • Full deck coverage, including reach at minimum radius
  • Improved lifting height and reach for tall objects

KenzFigee vice-president of Sales, Sietse Gerssen said: “We have been fortunate to work with the most renowned companies to develop this unique crane.  Although one of the world’s oldest crane manufacturers, feedback and dialogue with our clients is fundamental to understand their daily operations and challenges in order to adjust and improve designs to their specific needs and requirements.

“New technology is sometimes very close to existing principles, yet innovative in how all is brought together. The essence of this new subsea crane design is configuring proven technology in a different way.”
