Marine navigational aid lights for offshore platforms

With increasing demands from the offshore oil and gas industries for the latest technology, improved safety and reduced total cost of ownership, Orga’s continuing drive for innovation has developed the very latest in cutting-edge marine aids to navigation systems.

Orga’s third-generation platform marking and warning system employs both smart digital touchscreen technology and LED lighting technology and provides a robust and cost-effective digital navaid solution that will improve safety of life at sea and protect the valuable assets of the demanding global offshore oil and gas industries.

Marko Nieuwenhuize, Product Group Manager for Marine Aids to Navigation at Orga Offshore explains, "Orga’s new system is specifically designed to meet or exceed all IALA and local-authority operational and safety requirements for aids to navigation on offshore installations making it compliant for use in all global waters. It is also available for certified IECex and ATEX (Zone 1)."

A user-friendly touchscreen navaids central control panel (digital NCCP) sits at the heart of the new digital system with full alarm, history and remote status monitoring capabilities. Currently supplied with an RS-485 Modbus interface for digital communications, the system will support TCP/IP and web browser functions in the near future.

To further improve safety for offshore workers, the state-of-the-art modular design allows easy set up and maintenance while the touchscreen user interface enables full system interaction to control and monitor all Orga’s aids to navigation equipment including its precision-engineered L410-range of LED energy efficient marine lanterns, foghorns and marine radar beacons (racon) as well as Orga’s visibility meters and photocells for automatic control during night-time or poor visibility.

The new digital NCCP’s design also allows full integration of additional modules including the innovative Orga Circle-H LED helideck touchdown, positioning and marking lighting system as well as the latest Orga smart LED obstruction light system.
