Ecoglobal

Ecoglobal offers various inspection techniques, which are customised according to clients’ requirements.

Automated and semi-automatic ultrasonic pipeline inspection

Since 2003, Ecoglobal’s automated ultrasonic testing (AUT) and phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) capabilities have been deployed in many parts of the world, offshore and onshore on a variety of projects and for numerous clients.

Pipe sizes inspected have ranged from 2in to 72in, wall thickness from 5.5 mm to 35mm and to a variety of technical standards. The company has achieved an extensive and successful track record in both offshore and onshore pipeline projects using Pipe Wizard phased array systems and Focus Lt / Omniscan MX Phased array system (PAUT).

Ecoglobal provides a wide range of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection services.
Guided waves inspection uses low-frequency ultrasonic waves to screen structures.
Ecoglobal performs phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) longitudinal weld inspection.
The company undertakes on-site PAUT inspections at oil and gas processing plants.
Ecoglobal offers a range of pipeline inspection and assessment services.
The firm offers its services for both offshore and sealine facilities.

Phased array pipework inspection

Ecoglobal performs PAUT pipework inspection, where a phased array transducer enables an ultrasonic beam to be electronically focused or swept at an angle along the length of the array, reducing the scanning requirement of conventional transducers.

This technique can be used in lieu of radiography in the correct circumstances.

Time-of flight diffraction

Time-of flight diffraction (TOFD) is a semi-automatic, ultrasonic technique using time-of-flight diffracted signals for detecting and accurately sizing flaws in pipelines.

Guided waves inspection

Guided waves (GW) inspection is used in pipe testing applications with guided, ultrasonic waves at low-frequencies (generally less than 100kHz).

Using conventional ultrasound techniques, only the region of structure immediately close to the transducers can be tested. Guided waves enable the screening of a relatively large region of structure from a single, remotely located position.

Standard, non-destructive inspection services

Ecoglobal is an assigned, non-destructive testing (NDT) company for the installation and monitoring of corrosion in pipelines using permanently installed guided waves transducers.

The company performs a set of standard non-destructive inspection procedures, including:

  • Magnetic particle inspection (MT)
  • Manual ultrasonic inspection (UT)
  • Radiographic inspection (RT)
  • Dye penetrant inspection (PT)
  • Eddy current inspection (ET)
  • Magnetic flux leakage (MFL): rapid inspection of storage tank floors for the detection of corrosion and erosion
  • Computed radiography: a reliable, cost-effective alternative to conventional film by employing flexible, reusable phosphor plates or screens to capture images
  • Calibration blocks construction

Ecoglobal specialises in the manufacture of calibration blocks for ultrasonic and eddy current testing.

Using appropriate electro-discharge machines, the company manufactures different configurations of artificial defects with a high level of precision, with tolerances in the range of 0.01mm.

Offshore pipeline inspection and assessment services

Ecoglobal offers a wide range of pipeline inspection and assessment solutions, which are available inline.

These services include:

  • Pipeline air drying, cleaning, gauging and filling
  • Hydrostatic testing
  • Dewatering
  • Pipeline geometrical inspection: available as a single and multi-channel caliper tool (Italian technology)
