June 2021 has seen an increase of 2.18% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 8.49% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 65.34% in June 2021, a 28.34% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.43% in June 2021, marking a 10.13% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.12% in June 2021, a 7.84% growth from May 2021.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 24.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Reliance Industries posted 120 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 118.18% over the previous month, followed by Royal Dutch Shell with 80 jobs and a 2.56% growth. Exxon Mobil with 78 IT jobs and PI Industries with 50 jobs, recorded a 34.48% growth and a 4.17% increase, respectively, while Yara International recorded a 25.86% decline with 43 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 63.68% share in June 2021, an 18.15% rise over May 2021. China featured next with an 8.13% share, up 36.11% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 7.13% share, a growth of 65.38% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.5%, up by 1.01% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.22% share, a growth of 62.79% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.95% share, up 42.86% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.33%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
