Notably, internet of things was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q4 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of Covid-19 and blockchain, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the oil & gas industry, Eni had the greatest increase in references for internet of things in Q4 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified six internet of things-related sentences in the company's filings - 2% of all sentences - and an increase of 500% in Q4 2023 compared with Q4 2022. Koc Holding’s mentions of internet of things rose by 50% to 6 and Woodside Energy Group’s by 100% to 4 and Reliance Industries’s by 71% to 2.
