July 2021 has seen decrease of 0.8% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.71% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 0.36% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 30.77% in July 2021, a flat growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 25.64% in July 2021, marking a 66.67% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 25.64% in July 2021, a 16.67% drop from June 2021.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 12.82% in July 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 172.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s oil & gas industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Henkel AGKGaA posted 9 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Sasol with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Baker Hughes Holdings with 5 IT jobs and Schlumberger with 5 jobs, recorded a 400% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while John Wood Group recorded a 33.33% increase with 4 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s oil & gas industry
Egypt commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 30.77% share in July 2021, a flat growth over June 2021. South Africa featured next with a 25.64% share, up 11.11% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 15.38% share, a flat growth compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.97%, up by 53.33% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.64% share, a growth of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.38% share, up 200% over June 2021.
