Netherlands-based company Royal Dutch Shell’s IT hiring declined 13.2% in June 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 2.26% in June 2021 when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 22.53% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2021, and recorded a 0.4% down over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Royal Dutch Shell IT hiring in June 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Royal Dutch Shell, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 60.67% in June 2021, and a 3.57% drop over May 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 13.48% in June 2021, and registered a 20% an increase. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.11% in June 2021, an 80% rise from May 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Royal Dutch Shell

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in June 2021 with an 89.89% share, which marked a 2.56% growth over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 6.74%, registering a 14.29% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 3.37% share and a 50% growth over May 2021.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with an 85.39% share in June 2021, an 8.57% growth over May 2021. Poland featured next with a 5.62% share, flat growth over the previous month.Philippines recorded a 3.37% share, decline of 62.5% compared with May 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Royal Dutch Shell IT hiring activity in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.18%, down by 21.88% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 38.2% share, a growth of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.62% share, down 16.67% over May 2021.
