Netherlands-based company Royal Dutch Shell’s IT hiring declined 22.5% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 9.69% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 19.1% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 4.88% down over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Royal Dutch Shell IT hiring in July 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Royal Dutch Shell, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 62.67% in July 2021, and a 14.55% drop over June 2021, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 17.33% in July 2021, and registered a 44.44% increase. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.67% in July 2021, a 20% drop from June 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Royal Dutch Shell

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in July 2021 with an 88% share, which marked a 21.43% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 6.67%, registering a 66.67% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 5.33% share and a 33.33% drop over June 2021.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with an 84% share in July 2021, a 21.25% decline over June 2021. Poland featured next with a 5.33% share, down 20% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 5.33% share, an increase of 100% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.33%, down by 1.89% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.33% share, a decline of 45.71% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.33% share, down 20% over June 2021.
