June 2021 has seen an increase of 4.5% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 15.61% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.73% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 60.32% in June 2021, a 42.5% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.29% in June 2021, marking a 42.11% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.76% in June 2021, an 18.18% growth from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 37.3% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s oil & gas industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Exxon Mobil posted 161 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 35.29% over the previous month, followed by World Fuel Services with 5 jobs and a 25% growth. Petrobras Distribuidora with 3 IT jobs and John Wood Group with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Air Liquide recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s oil & gas industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 57.14% share in June 2021, a 24.14% rise over May 2021. Argentina featured next with a 33.86% share, up 33.33% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 2.65% share, a growth of 25% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.01%, up by 12.32% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.64% share, a growth of 29.41% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.35% share, up 500% over May 2021.
