The top five companies accounted for 30% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Secom filed the most robotics patents within the oil & gas industry in Q2 2024. The company filed 8 robotics-related patents in the quarter. It was followed by IFP Energies nouvelles with 6 robotics patent filings, Fuji Oil (4 filings), and Oceaneering International (3 filings) in Q2 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 37% share of total patent filings
