The value marked a decrease of 75.3% over the previous month and a drop of 78.6% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $42.31bn.
Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $6.25bn. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $5.74bn.
In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for oil & gas industry M&A deals globally, followed by Europe and then Asia-Pacific.
The top country in terms of M&A deals activity in June 2019 was the US with 36 deals, followed by the UK with nine and Canada with six.
In 2019, as of the end of June 2019, oil & gas M&A deals worth $244.33bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 14.4% year on year.

The top five oil & gas industry M&A deals accounted for 61.6% of the overall value during June 2019.
The combined value of the top five oil & gas industry M&A deals stood at $5.59bn, against the overall value of $9.07bn recorded for the month. The top announced oil & gas industry M&A deal tracked by GlobalData in June 2019 was Comstock Resources’ $2.2bn acquisition of Covey Park Energy.
In second place was the $1bn asset transaction with Royal Dutch Shell by PBF Energy and in third place was the $966m merger of NRC Group and US Ecology.
The $800m asset transaction with New Age (African Global Energy) by Lukoil Upstream Congo SAU and PTT Exploration and Production Public’s acquisition of Partex Holding for $622m held fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
