North America extended its dominance for cybersecurity hiring among offshore industry companies in the three months ending April.
The number of roles in North America made up 44.5% of total cybersecurity jobs – up from 28.2% in the same quarter last year.
That was followed by Asia-Pacific, which saw a -6.1 year-on-year percentage point change in cybersecurity roles.
The figures are compiled by GlobalData, which tracks the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.
GlobalData's thematic approach to sector activity seeks to group key company information by topic to see which companies are best placed to weather the disruptions coming to their industries. The fastest growing country was the US, which saw 25.2% of all cybersecurity job adverts in the three months ending April 2021, increasing to 42% in the three months ending April this year.
That was followed by Australia (up 3.9 percentage points), Malaysia (0.7), and Singapore (0.5).

Some 7.8% of all offshore industry cybersecurity roles were advertised in Houston (US) in the three months ending April.
That was followed by Bengaluru (India) with 4.2%, Singapore (Singapore) with 4%, and Broomfield (US) with 3.2%.
