North America extended its dominance for machine learning hiring among offshore industry companies in the three months ending March.
The number of roles in North America made up 40.9% of total machine learning jobs – up from 24.4% in the same quarter last year.
That was followed by Europe, which saw a 8.4 year-on-year percentage point change in machine learning roles.
The figures are compiled by GlobalData, which tracks the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

The fastest growing country was the US, which saw 20.6% of all machine learning job adverts in the three months ending March 2021, increasing to 35.8% in the three months ending March this year.
That was followed by the UK (up 4.8 percentage points), France (3.4), and Italy (2.9).

Some 11.6% of all offshore industry machine learning roles were advertised in Houston (US) in the three months ending March.
That was followed by Atlanta (US) with 5.1%, Pittsburgh (US) with 4.2%, and Chennai (India) with 3.3%.
