July 2022 has seen an increase of 0.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 9.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.98% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 48.01% in July 2022, a 0.95% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.79% in July 2022, marking a 2.52% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.88% in July 2022, a 1.2% rise from June 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 6.21% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during July 2022 over previous month.

Shell posted 163 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 9.4% over the previous month, followed by PI Industries with 79 jobs and a 41.07% growth. Yara International with 41 IT jobs and Koch Industries with 39 jobs, recorded an 18% drop and a 25% drop, respectively, while Baker Hughes recorded a 19.35% increase with 37 job postings during July 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 63.04% share in July 2022, a 3.52% decrease over June 2022. China featured next with an 8.74% share, up 35.71% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 7.06% share, a growth of 17.95% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.04%, up by 3.92% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.21% share, registered a decline of 1.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.75% share, up 4.76% over June 2022.
