November 2021 has seen an increase of 6.73% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.95% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering an increase of 1.58% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 59.4% in November 2021, a 9.38% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.39% in November 2021, marking a 46.67% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 8.75% in November 2021, a 31.88% drop from October 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.52% in November 2021, a 45.83% rise over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 2.76% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Royal Dutch Shell posted 158 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 8.67% over the previous month, followed by Yara International with 59 jobs and a 13.46% growth. PI Industries with 51 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 50 jobs, recorded an 112.5% rise and a 27.54% drop, respectively, while BP recorded an 112.5% increase with 17 job postings during November 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 62.38% share in November 2021, a 4.04% increase over October 2021. China featured next with a 9.87% share, up 32.5% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 6.52% share, a drop of 36.36% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.06%, up by 7.5% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.93% share, registered a decline of 7.98% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.01% share, down 12.24% over October 2021.
