US-based company Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring rose 4.6% in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 0.08% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 14.45% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 1.03% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring in October 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Baker Hughes Holdings, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 75.17% in October 2021, and a 15.46% rise over September 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 10.74% in October 2021, and registered growth of 6.67%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 4.7% in October 2021, a 133.33% rise from September 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Baker Hughes Holdings

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in October 2021 with a 46.31% share, which marked a 23.21% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 23.49%, registering a 16.67% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 22.82% share and a 25.93% rise over September 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 6.04% and a month-on-month decline of 25%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.34%, registering a 33.33% drop over the previous month.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 32.21% share in October 2021, a 14.29% growth over September 2021. US featured next with a 20.81% share, up 34.78% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 6.71% share, a decline of 9.09% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring activity in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.43%, up by 20% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 30.87% share, a growth of 35.29% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 4.03% share, down 57.14% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.67%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
