Germany-based company BASF’s IT hiring declined 18.9% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 10.43% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 5.15% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 0.65% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BASF IT hiring in August 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BASF, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 51.85% in August 2022, and a 22.22% drop over July 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 24.07% in August 2022, and registered a decline of 7.14%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 12.96% in August 2022, a 75% rise from July 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BASF

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 53.7% share, which marked a 21.62% drop over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 40.74%, registering a 21.43% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 5.56% share and a 50% drop over July 2022.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 40.74% share in August 2022, an 18.52% decline over July 2022. Malaysia featured next with a 29.63% share, up 1500% over the previous month. China recorded a 16.67% share, a decline of 72.73% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead BASF IT hiring activity in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.26%, down by 33.33% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.78% share, a decline of 11.76% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.96% share, up 16.67% over July 2022.
