Germany-based company BASF ’s IT hiring declined 4.5% in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 3.43% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 5.09% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2022, and recorded a 0.23% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BASF IT hiring in October 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BASF, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 54.29% in October 2022, and a 5.56% rise over September 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 22.86% in October 2022, and registered a decline of 11.11%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 11.43% in October 2022, a 20% drop from September 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at BASF

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in October 2022 with a 71.43% share, which marked a 7.41% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 22.86%, registering an 11.11% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 5.71% share and a 71.43% drop over September 2022.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 62.86% share in October 2022, a 4.35% decline over September 2022. China featured next with an 8.57% share, up 200% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 5.71% share, a decline of 75% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead BASF IT hiring activity in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.14%, down by 20.59% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 14.29% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.57% share, down 50% over September 2022.
