Germany-based company BASF’s IT hiring declined 7.8% in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 7.56% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 5.87% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2022, and recorded a 0.52% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BASF IT hiring in June 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BASF, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 43.4% in June 2022, and a 32.35% drop over May 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 32.08% in June 2022, and registered growth of 88.89%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.09% in June 2022, a 42.86% drop from May 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at BASF

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in June 2022 with a 47.17% share, which marked a 7.41% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 35.85%, registering a 40.63% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 16.98% share and a 200% rise over May 2022.

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 43.4% share in June 2022, a 4.17% decline over May 2022. Malaysia featured next with a 16.98% share, down 59.09% over the previous month. China recorded a 16.98% share, an increase of 50% compared with May 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead BASF IT hiring activity in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.7%, down by 11.63% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.09% share, a decline of 46.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.21% share, up 75% over May 2022.
