Germany-based company BASF ’s IT hiring rose 21.9% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 9.04% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 4.2% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 0.83% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BASF IT hiring in May 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by BASF, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 63.04% in May 2022, and a 20.83% rise over April 2022, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 19.57% in May 2022, and registered growth of 125%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.87% in May 2022, a 37.5% drop from April 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BASF
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 60.87% share, which marked a 100% rise over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 34.78%, registering a 5.88% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 4.35% share and a 71.43% drop over April 2022.
Malaysia commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 43.48% share in May 2022, a 100% growth over April 2022. Germany featured next with a 34.78% share, down 5.88% over the previous month. China recorded a 10.87% share, an increase of 25% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead BASF IT hiring activity in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.57%, down by 3.03% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.09% share, a growth of 200% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.35% share, up 100% over April 2022.
