UK-based company BP’s IT hiring rose 24.6% in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 17.86% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 16.99% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2022, and recorded a 1.34% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BP IT hiring in June 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by BP, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 56.72% in June 2022, and a 123.53% rise over May 2022, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 17.91% in June 2022, and registered growth of 140%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.96% in June 2022, a 200% rise from May 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BP
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in June 2022 with a 40.3% share, which marked a 68.75% rise over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 40.3%, registering a 145.45% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 19.4% share and a 550% rise over May 2022.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 29.85% share in June 2022, a 33.33% growth over May 2022. The UK featured next with a 22.39% share, up 114.29% over the previous month. US recorded a 19.4% share, an increase of 550% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead BP IT hiring activity in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.69%, up by 100% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 34.33% share, a growth of 360% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.99% share, down 33.33% over May 2022.
