Brazil’s oil & gas industry registered a 15.8% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.98% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 17.91% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 1.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Brazil’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 35.38% in June 2022, registering a 29.23% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 33.85% share, a decrease of 27.87% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 15%, registering a 46.58% decline from May 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.08%, down 34.38% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Brazil’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 27.32% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Ecopetrol posted 219 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 28.2% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 35 jobs and a 5.41% drop. Vibra Energia with 2 IT jobs and Syngenta with 1 jobs, recorded a 75% decline and a 66.67% decrease, respectively, while Koch Industries recorded a decline of 50% with 1 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, down by 35.4% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 14.23% share, registered a decline of 11.9% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.77% share, down 25% over May 2022.
