
China’s oil & gas industry registered a 1.1% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.63% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.76% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 1.18% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.5% in October 2021, registering a 30% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 22.5% share, an increase of 125% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15%, registering a flat growth from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.5%, down 25% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Yara International posted 11 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 10% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 5 jobs and a flat growth. BASF with 4 IT jobs and Air Energi Group with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Dow recorded a decline of 25% with 3 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.5%, up by 4.17% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 30% share, registered a decline of 29.41% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.5% share, flat growth over September 2021.
