
China’s oil & gas industry registered a 4.9% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.45% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.14% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.43% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in June 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.84% in June 2022, registering a 7.69% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 28.95% share, a decrease of 15.38% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 21.05%, registering a 14.29% rise from May 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.89%, down 40% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 22.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
BASF posted 9 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 50% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 5 jobs and a 28.57% drop. Akzo Nobel with 4 IT jobs and Clariant International with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Baker Hughes recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.68%, flat growth from May 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.42% share, registered a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.89% share, down 40% over May 2022.
