
Europe witnessed a 0.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the oil & gas industry in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
November 2021 has seen an increase of 0.43% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 6.02% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 56.88% in November 2021, a 4.37% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.1% in November 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.21% in November 2021, a 2.08% drop from October 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.79% in November 2021, a 3.45% rise over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 20.77% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s oil & gas industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Yara International posted 41 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 14.58% over the previous month, followed by Baker Hughes with 36 jobs and a flat growth. Schlumberger with 31 IT jobs and Exxon Mobil with 25 jobs, recorded a 520% rise and a 3.85% drop, respectively, while Evonik Industries recorded a 60% increase with 24 job postings during November 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s oil & gas industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 25.19% share in November 2021, a 4.3% increase over October 2021. The UK featured next with an 18.18% share, down 4.11% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 10.65% share, a growth of 17.14% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.27%, down by 9.12% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 17.66% share, registered a growth of 65.85% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15.06% share, down 22.67% over October 2021.
