December 2021 has seen an increase of 0.55% in the overall hiring activity when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.77% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering a decrease of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in December 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 53.33% in December 2021, an 8.26% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 17.6% in December 2021, marking a 6.45% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.93% in December 2021, a 19.15% rise from November 2021.

Top five oil & gas companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 6.62% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s oil & gas industry during December 2021 over previous month.
BASF posted 37 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 94.74% over the previous month, followed by Yara International with 30 jobs and a 26.83% drop. Henkel AGKGaA with 30 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 24 jobs, recorded an 87.5% rise and a 33.33% drop, respectively, while Exxon Mobil recorded a flat growth with 24 job postings during December 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s oil & gas industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 31.2% share in December 2021, a 20.62% increase over November 2021. The UK featured next with a 14.4% share, down 22.86% over the previous month. Netherlands recorded an 8.27% share, a growth of 24% compared with November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.33%, up by 6.59% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.33% share, registered a growth of 12.07% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.8% share, down 51.47% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.53%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
