October 2021 has seen an increase of 3.58% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.91% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.28% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 56.84% in October 2021, a 7.83% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.35% in October 2021, marking a 12.86% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.53% in October 2021, a 30.65% drop from September 2021.

Top five oil & gas companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 12.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s oil & gas industry during October 2021 over previous month.

Yara International posted 46 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 70.37% over the previous month, followed by BASF with 36 jobs and a 63.64% growth. Baker Hughes Holdings with 35 IT jobs and Exxon Mobil with 29 jobs, recorded a 16.67% rise and a 6.45% drop, respectively, while Henkel AGKGaA recorded a 42.5% decline with 23 job postings during October 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s oil & gas industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 24.4% share in October 2021, a 3.19% decrease over September 2021. The UK featured next with a 17.43% share, down 23.53% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 9.38% share, a drop of 18.6% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.05%, down by 3.64% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.03% share, registered a decline of 17.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.92% share, down 15.91% over September 2021.
