US-based company Exxon Mobil’s IT hiring declined 6.1% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 6.24% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 10.24% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 0.33% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Exxon Mobil IT hiring in May 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Exxon Mobil, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 51.81% in May 2022, and an 18.87% drop over April 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 18.07% in May 2022, and registered flat growth. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.46% in May 2022, a 7.69% drop from April 2022.

South & Central America drives IT hiring at Exxon Mobil

South & Central America emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 38.55% share, which marked a 25.58% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 28.92%, registering a 17.24% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 22.89% share and an 18.75% rise over April 2022.

In the fourth place was Asia-Pacific with a share of 9.64% and a month-on-month flat growth.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 38.55% share in May 2022, a 25.58% decline over April 2022. US featured next with a 28.92% share, down 17.24% over the previous month.

Junior Level jobs lead Exxon Mobil IT hiring activity in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.11%, down by 13.51% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.07% share, a growth of 7.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.82% share, down 50% over April 2022.
