US-based company Exxon Mobil ’s IT hiring rose 6.9% in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 10.08% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 22.03% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 3.96% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Exxon Mobil IT hiring in October 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Exxon Mobil, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 70.14% in October 2021, and an 8.18% drop over September 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 12.5% in October 2021, and registered a decline of 25%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.72% in October 2021, a 30% drop from September 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Exxon Mobil

North America emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in October 2021 with a 40.28% share, which marked a 19.44% drop over the previous month.

South & Central America stood next with 31.94%, registering a flat month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 20.14% share and a 6.45% drop over September 2021.

In the fourth place was Asia-Pacific with a share of 7.64% and a month-on-month decline of 35.29%.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 40.28% share in October 2021, a 19.44% decline over September 2021. Brazil featured next with a 29.86% share, up 4.88% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 15.97% share, a decline of 11.54% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Exxon Mobil IT hiring activity in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 80.56%, down by 12.12% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.5% share, a decline of 18.18% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.94% share, down 16.67% over September 2021.
