France’s oil & gas industry registered a 2.8% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.35% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.4% share in September 2022, recording an increase of 0.19% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s oil & gas industry in September 2022.

1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 44.12% in September 2022, registering a 400% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 29.41% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 20.59%, registering a 75% rise from August 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 2.94%, down 66.67% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 163.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s oil & gas industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

TotalEnergies posted 13 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 333.33% over the previous month, followed by TechnipFMC with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Air Liquide with 4 IT jobs and Arkema with 4 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Roquette Freres recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 85.29%, up by 222.22% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with an 8.82% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.88% share, down 33.33% over August 2022.
