Germany’s oil & gas industry registered a 12.9% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 12.04% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.11% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 102.3% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s oil & gas industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.32% in September 2021, registering a 3.92% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 18.39% share, an increase of 14.29% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.79%, registering a 7.69% decline from August 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.34%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 10% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s oil & gas industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Henkel AGKGaA posted 21 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 200% over the previous month, followed by BASF with 20 jobs and a 35.48% drop. Evonik Industries with 19 IT jobs and Yara International with 14 jobs, recorded an 11.76% flat growth and a 6.67% decrease, respectively, while LyondellBasell Industries recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.71%, down by 5.8% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.09% share, registered an increase of 27.27% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.2% share, flat growth over August 2021.
