The industry’s overall hiring increased by 37.89% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.87% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 5.82% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.25% in September 2022, registering a 42.8% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.88% share, an increase of 102.63% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 9.92%, registering a 14.29% rise from August 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.61%, up 6.9% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 60.12% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s oil & gas industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Reliance Industries posted 192 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 336.36% over the previous month, followed by Shell with 158 jobs and a 6.04% growth. PI Industries with 83 IT jobs and Koch Industries with 56 jobs, recorded a 14.43% decline and an 115.38% growth, respectively, while Baker Hughes recorded an increase of 173.33% with 41 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.26%, up by 51.67% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.77% share, registered an increase of 12.28% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.67% share, up 330% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.31%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
