July 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.01% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.9% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 28.21% in July 2022, a 21.43% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 23.08% in July 2022, marking an 80% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 17.95% in July 2022, a 16.67% rise from June 2022.

Baker Hughes posted 8 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 60% over the previous month, followed by Clariant with 4 jobs and a flat growth. TotalEnergies with 4 IT jobs and John Wood Group with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% rise and a 25% drop, respectively, while Qatar Gas Transport recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during July 2022.

Saudi Arabia commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 23.08% share in July 2022, a flat growth over June 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 23.08% share, up 200% over the previous month. South Africa recorded a 15.38% share, a flat growth compared with June 2022.
