August 2022 has seen an increase of 7.61% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.93% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 27.98% in August 2022, a 9.12% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 26.08% in August 2022, marking a 49.43% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 23.17% in August 2022, a 3.13% rise from July 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 13.03% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s oil & gas industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Koch Industries posted 163 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 1.81% over the previous month, followed by Sasol with 68 jobs and a 13.33% growth. Air Products and Chemicals with 35 IT jobs and Eastman Chemical with 29 jobs, recorded an 84.21% rise and a 52.63% rise, respectively, while Halliburton recorded a 30% increase with 26 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s oil & gas industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 92.38% share in August 2022, a 7.47% increase over July 2022. Canada featured next with a 5.32% share, up 47.22% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.31% share, a growth of 130% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.49%, up by 1.96% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.27% share, registered a growth of 28.04% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.94% share, up 25.24% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.3%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
